The baths
Four pools and a steam room.
Cut into one bed of stone at 1,250 metres. Use them in order, and rest on the stone between them.

Fed straight from the spring at 85 litres a minute. The whole pool is replaced every six hours.

The hottest water in the house. Stay ten minutes, then get out and sit on the stone.

Snowmelt from the upper valley, filtered through gravel. Thirty seconds is enough.

Three tiers
Spring water poured over hot stone every twenty minutes. No oils and no scents.
How to use them
The order matters.
Two rounds is enough for most people. Drink water between them; there is a fountain by every pool.
The Spring Pool, 15 minutes
Start here, at 36°C. Let the body warm through before anything hotter.
The Fire Pool, 10 minutes
At 42°C, ten minutes is the limit. Get out before you feel you must.
The Cold Pool, 30 seconds
Walk in to the shoulders, breathe out slowly, and get out.
Rest on the stone
As long as you were in the hot water. The benches stay at 31°C.
Repeat, then the Steam Room
A second round, and finish at 48°C in the steam.
Before you come
The rules of the house.
Speech in the changing rooms and on the terrace only.
Phones stay in the lockers. There is no music anywhere.
Guests from 16 years.
Towels, robes and sandals are provided.
If you have a heart condition or high blood pressure, skip the Cold Pool and tell the front desk.
